A little bit of flare

Senior Airman Samuel Davis, an airfield systems maintenance apprentice with the 2nd Weather Squadron, Det. 4, repairs the solar telescope’s polaroid servo for the automatic gain control at the Solar Observatory at Holloman Air Force Base, N.M., on Sept. 24. Davis is a depot-level maintenance technician who makes repairs on the three solar observatory telescopes around the world, the other two being in Learmonth, Australia and San Vito, Italy.
