Weather officers earn doctorate from NPS

Three Air Force weather officers recently graduated from the Naval Postgraduate School and were awarded the title Doctor of Philosophy in Meteorology.

Lt. Col. Jack Evans, Lt. Col. Robert Stenger, and Maj. Paul Homan all earned their doctorate following a three-year program of study in September.

Evans successfully defended his dissertation, "Determining Snow Depth Using Airborne Multi-Pass Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar."

Stenger successfully defended his dissertation, "Assessment of Tropical Cyclone Structure Variability."

Homan defended his dissertation, "Ensemble Sensitivity Analysis of a Severe Downslope Windstorm in Complex Terrain: Implications for Forecast Predictability Scales and Targeted Observing Networks."
