Colonel MATTHEW P. SATTLER

Colonel Matthew P. Sattler is the Deputy Commander, 557th Weather Wing, Offutt AFB, Neb. The Wing consists of more than 1,450 active duty and civil service personnel at 19 locations around the world providing centralized weather products and services, including climatological and space weather support to Air Force, Army, Joint Force, and other Department of Defense activities. The Wing executes worldwide weather operations to enable air and space superiority, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance, rapid global mobility, global strike, and command and control in support of all geographic and functional combatant commands.

Originally from San Antonio, Texas, Colonel Sattler is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma in Norman. He was a Reserve Officer Training Corps Distinguished Graduate and commissioned into the United States Air Force in 2000. Colonel Sattler has a diverse background, with experience in space weather modeling, weather operations supporting the intelligence community, contingency operations planning, Army combat weather operations, Squadron Command, Policy and Doctrine at Headquarters Air Force, Group Deputy Command, and most recently as the Division Chief for Readiness and Integration at Headquarters Pacific Air Forces.
